How to Make Cashew & Almond Non Dairy Milk

I love mixing cashew and almonds together when making non dairy milk. It gives it such a complex and creamy non dairy milk that is perfect for cereal, cooking and even those thanksgiving meals! I have a new macaroni and cheese recipe using it that I’m excited to share with you! Stay tuned!

I start with just target brand raw cashews and raw almonds. They’re reasonably priced and easy to find. The liquid measuring beaker is from Amazon, which all of the products I use here today will be. I use

  • 3/4 cup raw cashews
  • 3/4 cup raw almonds
  • 2 cups water (to soak)

I use this silver bowl set to soak my nuts in some water overnight. You can add hot water to them like an hour before blending your nuts but I recommend overnight because it not only makes them easier to blend but it brings out more of a deeper full flavor of nut milk.

Once you’re done soaking your cashews and almonds, rinse them quickly in a sieve strainer and then add them to a blender. I recommend the Ninja because it’s like a vitamix but for a fraction of the price.

Then add 4 cups of filtered water. This Pink water filter pitcher is so cute and I love that you can fill it on top without having to remove the lid or anything. It makes it a breeze.

Blend for 1-2 minutes.

Strain using my favorite, Ellie’s Best Nut Milk Bag. The material makes it way easier to clean and I love the drawstring to help secure it! 10/10! I use it for cold brew and juices and even squeezing all the moisture out of frozen spinach when making spinach dip!

Squeeze.

Then I pour it into this Quart container because it has a locking lid because sometimes non dairy milk can separate after it sits in the fridge for a bit, so you’ll want an easy way to just shake it right back up. That’s why it says shake well on nondairy milk containers you buy at the store.

And that’s it y’all! I’m going to make some cereal for breakfast so my nondairy milk has been sitting since last night and I got these super cute Christmas mugs with this stand and I want to use them right away!

Look at how luscious that cashew and almond milk looks on that cereal!
