I wanted to make crinkle cookies for Valentine’s Day treats so I used red velvet cake mix and strawberry cake mix!

I realized after the fact that the net wt on these boxes of cake mix were different amounts and produced different crinkle cookie results.

The red velvet cake mix had less in it and therefore produced a thinner crinkle cookie batter than the strawberry cake mix. They are different brands, so I’m sure that is a factor too. I just wanted to let you know that they will all work, but they may be a little different texturally.

The red velvet crinkle cookies were a bit thinner and more chewy than the strawberry crinkle cookies, which were a bit fluffier and soft.

But both were absolutely delicious and a big hit with the fam jam!

I used these dollar tree fake M&Ms on top directly after they came out of the oven for funsies but you don’t have to add them or you can use any other candy your heart desires!

The Valentine’s Day decor and this cute Valentine’s Day tin is also from the Dollar tree.

These glass bowls I’m using here for the crinkle cookie batter and powdered sugar are part of a set I recently got from Amazon and I’m obsessed! They have lids too! They’re still on sale from the time of this post!

The scoop is also from Amazon and part of a set! Perfect for cookies and cupcakes!

Ok so you mix a box of cake mix, an 8oz tub of cool whip (or great value tub whipped topping cuz it’s cheaper) and an egg in a bowl. I put mine the fridge for about a half hour before scooping. Then roll in powdered sugar and bake in a 350°F oven for 12-15 minutes.

That’s it! Your crinkle cookies need to cool a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack but then you can eat them!

I also ate them with this cute Valentine’s Day coffee I made with the pink mean girls creamer and target’s strawberry whipped cream!

I’ll share that recipe and another for those pink and red Valentine’s Day heart blossom sugar cookies too, so you’re gonna wanna follow me on my socials and subscribe too!

Ok love you bye
