How to Make Sugar Cookie Cake Pops for St. Patrick’s Day

Y’all know those iconic Sugar Cookies from Target & Walmart? The soft dry ones with the frosting on top that don’t even taste good?

Yeah, those sugar cookies! Let’s make them more delicious and better than even Starbucks’ cake pops! Oh and cheaper than Starbucks cake pops too! Just mix a whole container of sugar cookies with 4oz softened cream cheese!

Now you’ve got this cool sugar cookie cake pop dough! If you don’t have a Kitchenaid Stand Mixer you can get this one from Amazon but really it’s not necessary. If I wasn’t filming for a video I would probably not pull it out and just use my hands with a pair of gloves and mix it all together. You could use a utensil of sorts too, like a potato masher or wooden spoon. It would just require a little more elbow grease!

You also don’t need this Cookie Scoop from Amazon to make your balls but I do like having them closer to the same size for ease. Amazon also has like Cake Pop Molds but I try not to have extra things laying around that I have to find a place for in a small living space.

Roll your cake pop balls by hand and then pop them into the fridge so the cream cheese has a chance to set back up a bit. Then you can start melting your chocolate.

Sometimes with candy melts, I find that they are super thick when melted and makes it impossible to dip anything, let alone a whole cake pop. So I use EZ Thin by Wilton on Amazon.

You can just add a little at a time to your chocolate candy melts until you get your desired consistency. Candy melts can be from anywhere, Walmart, Michael’s, target, I’ve even found some at Aldi before.

Look at how beautifully thin that chocolate is ready to dip some sugar cookie cake pops! Side note, these cute Matte Gold Spoons are part of a flatware set from Amazon and they make me feel fancy for super cheap!

Same goes for this Measuring Cup Beaker from Amazon! After all, baking is science! Ok so dip the tip of your cake pop sticks into the melted chocolate of your choosing and insert them into your cake pop balls.

This helps the cake pop sticks stick to the cake pops. Shew, say that 5 times fast! The Cake Pop Sticks came from Amazon, in a set, with these cute little bags and twisty ties to package your sugar cookie cake pops!

I loved being able to share my cake pops with family and neighbors! That was super cool!

Ok so, dip your sugar cookie cake pops and then place them on a Cake Pop Stand from Amazon to dry…

Orrrrr…

You can just get a piece of foam from the floral part of the dollar tree and wrap it in wrapping paper and then you can shove your cake pops in there like I did with these Vegan Cake Pops I made a few years ago!

You can decorate your cake pops however you would like! I did a variety of designs for funsies! The drizzle is always my fave because it looks fancy, it’s easy, and you get to use up more of your chocolate so it doesn’t go to waste!

I just use these disposable piping bags from Amazon and snip the tip for an easy cake pop drizzle!

I also quite like some festive sprinkles!

I got these St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock Sprinkles from Amazon and I love them! They’re a super cute blend but are mostly jimmies so they’re more edible than some of these other fancy looking sprinkles that really aren’t edible and will break your teeth off, ya know what I mean?

These cute little espresso spoons are from Amazon too!

And that’s it, folks! We just made sugar cookie cake pops for St. Patrick’s Day!

I still can’t get over the little packages! I love sharing baked goods with people!

They were a super hit with everyone, kids and adults alike!

I also still absolutely love that they are so much cheaper than Starbucks cake pops! All of the fun stuff from Amazon I happen to have and used aren’t all completely necessary. But now that I have it all, expect a ton of cake pops if you live near me!

I’ll also be making a lot more St. Patrick’s Day recipes so be sure to follow and stay tuned!

Ok love you bye
