The story goes, if you give a grinch a delicious grinch themed Christmas cookie, their heart will grow three times to size! I was inspired by Sophia Mya Cupcakes on Facebook!

For the butter cookies I used Cloudy Kitchen’s One Bowl 30 Minute Butter Cookies Recipe. I did, however, add green gel food coloring from the generic neon gel food coloring pack from Walmart or Target. And then I also added amaretti Essence from Amazon for an extra flavor component.

I used red candy melts and silicone heart molds to make the little red hearts. I just don’t fill the mold up all the way, I just added a thin little layer of red candy melts so it was thin. I made these in advance and kept them in these deli containers that I’ve been obsessed with for all of my cooking, baking and leftover needs!

I used a piping bag and tip set from Amazon to pipe my hearts. If you put a little bit of the dough on the corners of your baking sheet, you can press the parchment paper into them so the paper stays put as you pipe the hearts.

I recommend chilling the dough for 20 minutes or so before baking so they hold their shape better. I did not do that so mine fell some but they were still super cute, so if you’re in a rush, don’t worry about the chilling, just something I would personally do next go round.

After they cool completely, I melted some white chocolate. Listen, the moser Roth Madagascar vanilla white chocolate from Aldi is incredible! But any white chocolate will do ya! Then just dip half of your grinch heart Christmas butter cookie in the white chocolate.

While the white chocolate is still wet, add a little red chocolate heart

Then I just use an espresso spoon to add some Christmas sprinkles from the grocery store or Walmart or target, wherever you can find the Christmas sprinkles you prefer. Then let everything dry/harden.

And that’s it! These grinch butter cookies were super easy to mix in the kitchen aid and then honestly, decorating them was easy too. You don’t need any sort of artistic skills to make a cute Christmas cookie for your cookie box! Or if you’re like me, just for me and my little family.

My husband loves butter cookies, like on the blue tin that now contains sewing accessories. These are WAY better! They’re incredible light and melt in your mouth vibes but yet somehow a great snap and flavor. Oh man, you gotta try these fun grinch cookies for Christmas!

Happy Holidays y’all! And if you’re feeling a grinch feeling coming on, bake some grinch cookies and then eat them and I bet you’ll perk right up and ready to tackle the rest of Christmas!
